I don’t have enough interaction with you Delmarva. I have 4 e-mail addresses, 2 Facebook pages, and a Twitter account (follow me! @captainblueband). A blog is definitely a much needed addition. Soon my title will read:
Musician, Radio Show Host, Connoisseur of fine Whiskey, Nomad, E-mail Master, Facebook Page Enthusiast, Tweeterer, Blogger.
I’ve got this.
Since I’ve already got a lot going on, I figure I might as well take a different approach with the blog thang. I’m not going to post Meme’s on here (honestly, I think they’re lame.) I’m not going to post a million Youtube video’s that I think are funny to try to get a million likes and become an overnight Youtube sensation (I already know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.) And yeah, I quoted Tolkien, get over it.
I’m gonna utilize this space to tell you about myself; to document my life in ways which I haven’t already. On this blog you will find things that I’m not talking about on the air. You may find me accidentally cursing from time to time, and for that I apologize in advance. I curse like a sailor. In fact, there are probably a lot of things you don’t actually know about me. Here are 10 things to get the party started:
1.) My real name is Charles.
2.) I actually do own a cell phone, but I only carry it for about 1 week every 2 years, for the other 103 weeks it’s usually lost. I don’t bother to look for it either.
3.) I don’t watch television; I think it steals your soul.
4.) I play in an Americana group called Captain Blue’s Grass Band. (http://www.facebook.com/captainbluemusic)
5.) I don’t like to sit still, ever.
6.) I enjoy reading.
7.) I enjoy whiskey.
8.) I’m quite boring, really.
9.) Most of the music I listen to, you’ve probably never heard of.
10.) I have 4 dogs, 2 cats, a beautiful girlfriend named Morgan, 2 brothers (both in college) 2 sisters (one lives in Japan, one is in Middle School.) And my parents are still together after 25 years. They live on 13 acres in the beautiful metropolis of Laurel, DE. (technically Sharptown, MD…) And… I live with them.. Still.
I’m a pretty easy going guy, and I love my job. I love talking to you all and seeing what’s up! Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty stuff.
The Local Produce Battle for June Jam is back! I’ve taken all of the entries, compiled a list, and made a couple of polls on the Local Produce facebook page. The details on the competition are can be found there. (http://www.facebook.com/localproduceonthebeach)I really don’t want to have to use this blog to re-iterate all of the things I post on my Facebook pages. I think that’s boring.
Captain Blue’s Grass Band is blessed with already having a spot on the June Jam stage this year, and we’re really excited about it! If you’d like to get some details on June Jam go to http://www.junejam.com if you’d like to look at my bands schedule please go to http://www.facebook.com/captainbluemusic
